In the Senate, Colin McDonald was confirmed as an Assistant Attorney General in a 52-47 party-line vote (D 0-45, R 52-0). Senators rejected a motion to discharge S.J.Res. 116 from the Committee on Foreign Relations by a 47-53 margin. Procedural actions on S. 1383 included two 53-47 votes to table motions regarding Rule XXV and committee referral instructions. Additionally, the Senate agreed to a motion to proceed to legislative session by a 51-47 vote.
