Calendar

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the House is scheduled to consider several bills under a suspension of the rules, led by H.R. 7613, the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency Act of 2026. Also on the calendar is H.R. 1011, the Emergency Conservation Program Improvement Act of 2025. Additionally, the chamber will address multiple postal facility designations, including H.R. 3393 to name a Phoenix office the Officer Zane T. Coolidge Post Office.

On Tuesday, April 14, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation took action on the nomination of PN622. The committee ordered the nomination to be reported favorably, moving it forward from the initial committee stage. No other nomination activity was recorded in the seven-day period ending Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Following leader remarks, the chamber will resume consideration of H.J.Res.140, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of a Bureau of Land Management rule regarding Public Land Order No. 7917. A vote on the passage of H.J.Res.140 is expected around 11:00 AM. Later, at approximately 1:45 PM, the Senate is scheduled to vote on a motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Andrew B. Davis to be a U.S. District Judge.

On Thursday, April 16, the Senate passed H.J.Res. 140 (50-49) and the House passed the FENCES Act (220-208), the RED Tape Act (222-205), and H.Res. 965 (220-207). The Senate also agreed to a motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Andrew B. Davis to be U.S. District Judge (49-48). Several measures failed in the House, including H.Con.Res. 40 (213-214), which sought to remove U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities with Iran, and motions to recommit both the FENCES Act (213-215) and the RED Tape Act (213-216).
