When the Senate adjourns on Thursday it will next convene at 3:00pm on Monday, July 13, 2026. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #776 Matthew A. Schwartz, of New York, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit, post-cloture.

At approx. 5:30pm the Senate will vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #778 Arthur Roberts Jones, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.

During Wednesday’s session Senator Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #436, S.4784, An original bill to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes. This cloture motion will ripen following disposition of the Schwartz Circuit nomination on July 14th.
