Before entering Congress, Suzan DelBene served as the director for the Washington State Department of Revenue starting in 2010. She has represented Washington's 1st congressional district since 2012, after winning a general election for the redrawn district and a simultaneous special election to fill the remainder of a vacant term. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously sought election to the 8th congressional district in 2010.
