Background
Jake Ellzey was born on January 24, 1970. He served in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot, completing tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. Following his military retirement, he worked as a commercial pilot for Southwest Airlines, a consultant, and a social aide in the White House during the Bush administration.
Political career
Jake Ellzey began his political career as a commissioner of the Texas Veterans Commission from 2012 to 2018 and later served in the Texas House of Representatives for the 10th district starting in January 2021. He resigned from the state legislature in July 2021 after winning a special election to represent Texas's 6th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as a U.S. representative since 2021.
