Mike Flood is a Republican U.S. Representative from Nebraska's 1st district who previously served as the speaker of the Nebraska Legislature from 2007 to 2013.
Background
Mike Flood was born on February 23, 1975, and attended the University of Notre Dame, where he hosted a show on the campus radio station. He later earned a law degree and became an attorney and media entrepreneur, founding Flood Communications in 1999. Before entering federal office, he built a media network that grew to include 15 radio stations and Nebraska's only 24-hour news channel.
Political career
Mike Flood served two separate tenures in the Nebraska Legislature representing the 19th district, first from 2005 to 2013 and again from 2021 to 2022, during which time he served as speaker of the legislature from 2007 to 2013. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as the U.S. representative for Nebraska's 1st congressional district since July 2022.

Flood, Mike represents the 1st congressional district of NE in the U.S. House. Flood, Mike chairs the Housing and Insurance.
