Frank D. Lucas began his political career in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, where he represented the 59th district from 1988 until 1994. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994, initially representing Oklahoma's 6th district before moving to the 3rd district in 2003 following redistricting. A member of the Republican Party, he became the dean of Oklahoma's congressional delegation in 2023.
