On July 29, 2021, the House of Representatives voted unanimously (420-0) to pass H.R. 4300, the Alexander Lofgren Veterans in Parks (VIP) Act. The bill provides free lifetime passes to National Parks and other federal recreational lands for U.S. military veterans and Gold Star Families (the next of kin of those who died in military service).
